sweet, savage love

filipinos love ballads and this song is a great one. i unabashedly love this version of an opm classic. i must admit that while i can't carry a tune myself, yelling out lyrics usually kills a ballad stone dead for me. but jovit baldivino's singing style suits the drama of this song and gives it enough strength to transcend its melodramatic tendencies. the way he almost yells out parts of this song adds depth to the passion, and it becomes so believable. i can just imagine someone singing this in the same manner while wooing the object of his/her affection. it's pure pinoy drama, it's very romantic and i love it.

always black, always sexy

anthony vaccarello
anthony vaccarello, fall 2011. i love this. the obvious sexiness is not entirely devoid of intellect. part of the appeal of this aesthetic comes from the implicit masculinity and toughness of the clothes. i particularly love the coat that opened the show, with a hint of skin peeking through during movement. it's very sexy.
